I'm doing an alice in wonderland ballet number and I've been trying to find a costume. I've looked through a couple of websites but I cant seem to find anything. I've been looking for a costume that has a very full skirt (like a long ballet tutu). For all of those who help, thank you!

I am the master of finding stuff.
my friend wants to be the queen of hearts for halloween, and im gonna be the mad hatter. i ordered my costume, but we're making hers. we want something not like a queen of hearts from a deck of cards but a cute costume with a mini dress type thing. how could we go about making this without buying a pattern and sewing it etc.
see if you can find a suitable dress at a retail or thrift store, then make accessories. Cardboard and paint would make a crown, the cardboard core of a roll of paper towels would be a start for a scepter.
i want to be one of those for halloween.
i'm 13 and all the mad hatter and Queen Of Hearts Costumes are 'revealing' costumes made for like 17 year olds, but the kid ones too kiddish for my tastes.
SO i really want to make a costume by myself.
but not sewing it or anything just buying things to make up the costume.
what would i need to buy? and how much do you think it would cost?
thanks (:

something like that but not so expensive.
for the mad hatter just find a top hat and like a green vest...
or look at the costumes and take what you like about them and try to replicate it with other pieces that you can find and then adjust it to be more age appropriate
for the queen of hearts you could find a base, a dress or a skirt and shirt and then pin hearts or something to it and make a septer or something
LOL i was going to be Dante for Halloween...but you know how minds change. :3 by the time halloween comes up i will have a haircut and all of that shizznit. LOL sorry if you get annoyed by how I go on youtube too much! ^w^; i got carried away and started watching Soul Eater and Dante. *~* But anyhoo let's thank Hottopic 4 having this awsome clothing.

Halloween is kinda a big thing around here, everyone likes to decorate and get dressed up. It's just a fun time and I was thinking about what I was going to be and I had the idea of Alice in Wonderland. I always make my own costumes but never really sew anything. I can sew small things but nothing more. How would you go about this? I'm not sure that I would have a blue skirt but I do have a light denim one . . . any and all help is appreciated!
With all due respect have you ever viewed the Disney Version???
I have; a hundred or more times with my daughter.
I recall Alice having at least ONCE,,, a pale blue dress with some form of an apron, with scallops? Yikes why am I even answering this? LOL.
The DRESS was probably a V or Boat neck, with the embellishments in white lace or whatever, such as frilly or flouncy collar and maybe on the ends of SHORT sleeves.. The apron was designed as a metaphor for her REAL life versus her wandering into dreams.
I am gunna be a queen of hearts for halloween and i want to think about accessories. I will wear a dress (that my mom will sew) it will be red white and black and will incorporate some hearts too. I was thinking maybe some sort of staff with a heart on it? or maybe a crown with the actual playing cards on it...any other ideas...
A heart necklace and earings to match! A crown deff but no playing cards, it will look weird. A staff would be cool. If you wanted to over exagerate you could put red face paint on your cheeks in a shape of a heart.
Don't ask why I'm asking this question now cause I know Halloween is in a LONG time but can you give me a link to a queen of hearts Haloween dress. Not those short ones,, ones that are appropriate for 12 year olds to wear. Also please don't make them those 100 something dollar ones. Thanks for the help.
I'm sure you could get a mother, grandmother, or hire someone to make it for you. Go to a fabric store and look at diffrent dresses. It does not have to be a queen of hearts pattern. What you could do is, find red material and make a dress out of that. It could be a regular princess dress made with fabric that is more Queen of hearts style.

there is one that I found if you don't care to make it. I'll keep a look out

The Queen of Hearts is usually depicted as an ugly woman. In the video game American McGee's Alice, she is a faceless monster with tentacles for arms, legs, and hair. In the Disney animated feature, Alice in Wonderland, she is portrayed as a fat, pompous, bad tempered old tyrant.
Hesitate about buying The Queen Of Hearts Costumes because of this bad impression? You need not. It is your chance to show your power to turn negative into positive. You may choose to put on an enchanting dress to make yourself become the sexy Queen of Hearts. Dont miss this chance.
